Up for sale, an Originalin Excellent (near Mint) Condition Höfner 500/2 Club Bass Contemporary Series in , upgraded with a Hofner Black Tolex Hard Case and multiple Original Höfner German components.

This bass features a complete German control assembly, not just the control panel and teacup knobs, but the entire internal and external electronics are German-made, combined with its original German made Staple pickups, delivering the true character of a German Höfner. An iconic warm, woody thump and pillowy bass sound that you can expect only from a Hofner.

Additional upgrades include a German Ebony bridge, German white strap pins, a German-made matching pickguard, and a blank truss rod cover, all matching the look and quality of the German 500/2 Club.

While this Contemporary Series model includes a center block (which is a major advantage for live or high-volume situations due to its feedback resistance) it still sounds almost identical to my German Hofners, with all the same woody depth and responsive attack.

The instrument has been professionally set up with low action for smooth playability and is strung with a fresh set of Thomastik Infeld flatwound strings, playing beautifully well with low action.

Cosmetically, it’s in Excellent condition with very minimal signs of careful use. Comes with an Original Hofner Club Bass Hard Case, which sells separately. The Bass is priced competitively low, specially considering all the upgrades, worth around $500.
